1984

Sometimes it seems to me, that human inner world is more inexhaustible than all outer adventures a human being could undertake. The elder I get the more different books I happen to read. I used to read fantasy and for now finished reading something like 1984 by Orwell. This book was great, not sure that the word “great” suites here. The book smashed me, even all these links to communism, KGB etc stroke me less than human relationship. Either I am prone to be impressed by the books like this one, or … I don’t know really… right now I think, that no book but the 1984 impressed me most in my whole life. I did not read the original one, I read translation to Russian, and I assume than I miss something but even this translated version was incredible. I felt all these feeling, I was with Winston at the forest meadow, I wrote the diary with him, I stood behind his shoulder reading the prohibited book. I held the girl instead of him, I betrayed her…

As the time flows, I feel relief, all the colours fades away. This is also an interesting side of human mind, to be able to forget to erase all strong feelings unconsciously.

hello.. you don’t know me.. but I’ve read 1984 as well, it gave me a terrible sense of hoplessness. If you liked 1984, try reading “The Outsider” by Camus
    bye …
